This man is nearly 100% responsible for my current uncertainty about the internet. Something about what he’s doing seems a little pathological. If this is the future of self-enterprise on the internet then I think I’d rather ditch it all and start making something with my hands. Matthew Ager is talking like this in a piece on Slate - Heidegger and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance and his book - Shop Class as Soulcraft: An Inquiry Into the Value of Work. As I said to someone recently, “[it] just seems like a pyramid scheme to me. There’s something false about it all.”.
